Overheating — Servo drives generate significant heat during continuous operation. Blocked ventilation, failed cooling fans, or ambient temperatures above spec will trigger thermal protection. Clean heatsink fins, replace fans, and ensure adequate airflow around the drive.
IGBT and Power Module Failure — The IGBT modules inside servo drives handle high-current switching. Power surges, lightning events, or prolonged overcurrent operation can destroy these modules.
