VFD & AC/DC Drive Repair

VFD & AC/DC Drive Repair

Variable Frequency Drives control the speed and torque of your motors — and when one fails, the line stops. Replacing a mid-size VFD can cost lakhs. Our engineers repair drives at the component level — IGBTs, rectifier bridges, gate drivers, control boards — so you get factory performance at a fraction of replacement cost. Every drive is tested under full load before shipping back.

What We Repair

AC Variable Frequency Drives

  • Low voltage VFDs (0.4 kW to 250 kW)
  • Medium voltage drives
  • Vector control and sensorless vector drives
  • Regenerative drives and active front-end units

DC Drives

  • Thyristor-based DC drives
  • 4-quadrant regenerative DC drives
  • Field excitation and armature controllers

Servo Drives & Soft Starters

  • AC and DC servo drives — Yaskawa, Mitsubishi, Delta, Panasonic
  • Soft starters and motor protection relays
  • Spindle drives for CNC machines

Common Symptoms

!Drive shows OC (over current), OV (over voltage), or OL (overload) fault
!Display dead or showing random characters
!IGBT module failure / explosion / shorted
!Cooling fan not running, drive overheating
!Output unbalanced — motor running rough or single-phasing
!Communication fault between drive and PLC
!Drive trips on startup or under specific load

Our Repair Process

1

Initial Assessment

Send the drive or share photos and the fault code on WhatsApp. We give a no-obligation quote within 48 hours.

2

Power Stage Inspection

IGBT modules, DC bus capacitors, rectifier bridges and snubber networks are tested individually — not assumed good.

3

Control Board Diagnostics

Gate drivers, DSP/microcontroller, current sensors, and isolation circuits are traced and verified against schematics.

4

Component Replacement

Original or industrial-grade equivalent components only. Capacitors are replaced as a matched set to maintain DC-bus balance.

5

Full-Load Test

Repaired drive is run on our dynamometer test bench with a real motor at rated current for several hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you repair drives after IGBT explosion?+

Yes — IGBT module replacement is one of our most common repairs. We also check and replace driver ICs and gate resistors that often fail along with IGBTs.

How long is the warranty?+

Standard warranty is 3–6 months depending on the repair scope. The exact term is stated on your service report.

Do you sell refurbished drives?+

Occasionally we have tested refurbished units available. Ask on WhatsApp with your model number.

Will the drive perform like new after repair?+

When repaired at the component level with quality parts and proper testing, yes — many of our customers report years of trouble-free operation post-repair.
